Music Studio Fall Session -The fall session of the Music Studio begins on September 7.  Please call the office for teacher availability and scheduling. 
Channel 62's On the Road Features NJWA -  News 12 New Jersey's On the Road visited downtown Westfield on August  15.  During the broadcast, our own Rosemary Topar was interviewed as a representative of the NJWA and she serenaded the viewers with a violin solo.

NJWA Holiday Performance - Various string groups, associated with the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, will play a variety of seasonal music at a Holiday Performance at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 229 Cowperthwaite Place in Westfield on Sunday, December 14 at 2:00 pm.  Although there is no admission charge, free-will donations will be gratefully accepted.
Alphorn Solos - Dr. Ted Schlosberg will be appearing with the Chatham  Municipal Band, at Chatham High School, 255 Lafayette Avenue, Chatham, on Dec. 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and with the Union Municipal Band, at Hannah Caldwell School, 1120 Commerce Avenue, Union, on Dec. 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  He will be performing two alphorn solos, Ranz des Vaches, a traditional Swiss melody, and Alphorn Brass by Ray Woodward.
Downtown Westfield Entertainment - Come hear the NJWA Brass Quartet strolling downtown on Saturday, December 13, from 1:00 until 3:00 pm.  The Alphorn Ensemble will be entertaining shoppers on Central Avenue, near Quimby Street, on 3 Saturdays, December 6 from 3:00 until 4 pmDecember 13 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm and on December 20 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Rain dates are the following Thursdays. 
The Music Connection Fundraising Concert - The Florian Schantz Jazz Combo will perform a fundraising concert for The Music Connection on Sunday, December 21, at 4:30 pm at the Crossroads in Garwood.  Proceeds from this benefit concert will help to provide music lessons for children with special needs. Introduction to the String Bass -  Those in grades 1, 2 and 3 will have fun while they are introduced to playing the string bass, using pizzicato and bow. These are private lessons, which follow the regular  guidelines of the Music Studio. The lessons for this age level are now available because of the Music Studio's acquisition of a 1/10 size string bass. Phone 908-789-9696 for more details. 
Louis Armstrong Award - Dr. Ted Schlosberg presented the Louis Armstrong Award for outstanding accomplishments in jazz performance on trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn and bass trumpet to Florian Schantz of the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo. The presentation took place before a sell-out crowd at the NJWA Gala Celebration and Dinner at Shanghai Jazz in Madison.
