Music Studio Winter Session -The Winter session of the Music Studio begins on January 4.  Please call the office for teacher availability and scheduling. 
Westfield Jazz Prodigy - A recent issue (February 19) of both the Courier News and the Home News Tribune, have featured a lead article on Florian Schantz, a student of Phil Rinaldi, who has shared his musical talents with the community. To access the article, log on to www.mycentraljersey.com.  In the search box, place the words Florian Schantz Jazz Combo. The article "Westfield Jazz Prodigy Raises the Bar" will appear along with some videos.  
Channel 62's On the Road Features NJWA -  News 12 New Jersey's On the Road visited downtown Westfield on August 15. During the broadcast, our own Rosemary Topar was interviewed as a representative of the NJWA and she serenaded the viewers with a violin solo. Rock Performance Workshop Concert - The NJWA Rock Performance Workshop bands, Spyked and El Guapo, will be performing at Rockn’ Joes at the Union Train Station, 900 Green Lane, Union, on Saturday, February 7, from 6 to 9 pm. An optional goodwill donation will be accepted in support of Kiva, which provides micro loans globally to create opportunity in situations of poverty.
Majestic Winds Concert - The Majestic Winds, the professional wind band of the NJWA, will present a concert at  Zion Lutheran Church, 559 Raritan Road, Clark, on Thursday, March  12, 2015, at 7:30 pm.  The event is open to the public and admission is free.  Contributions will be gratefully accepted.
Rockin' Jazz Band - The  Rockin' Jazz Band, directed by Caryn Feder, has begun a new winter/spring session.  Click  here for more information on the band.
"Fluteketeers" Begin New Session - The  NJWA Flute Ensemble, the "Fluteketeers," for young musicians  ages 9 to 14,   will begin their new session on Saturday, January 17, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the studio.  Click here for more information.    
Rock Performance Workshop New Session - The Rock Performance Workshop will begin its winter/spring session on Saturday, February 7Group A will meet at 6:00 pm and Group B at 7:30 pm.  Click here for more details. 
Introduction to the String Bass -  Those in grades 1, 2 and 3 will have fun while they are introduced to playing the string bass, using pizzicato and bow. These are private lessons, which follow the regular  guidelines of the Music Studio. The lessons for this age level are now available because of the Music Studio's acquisition of a 1/10 size string bass. Phone 908-789-9696 for more details. 
Louis Armstrong Award - Dr. Ted Schlosberg presented the Louis Armstrong Award for outstanding accomplishments in jazz performance on trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn and bass trumpet to Florian Schantz of the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo. The presentation took place before a sell-out crowd at the NJWA Gala Celebration and Dinner at Shanghai Jazz in Madison.
