Louis Armstrong Award - Dr. Ted Schlosberg presented the Louis Armstrong Award for outstanding accomplishments in jazz performance on trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn and bass trumpet to Florian Schantz of the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo. The presentation took place before a sell-out crowd at the NJWA Gala Celebration and Dinner at Shanghai Jazz in Madison. 
Music Studio Spring Session - The spring session of the Music Studio begins on April 21.  Please call the office for teacher availability and scheduling.
Outsider Art Exhibit: April 6 marks the opening of the Outsider Art Exhibit, which will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in Mozart  Hall. Music will be provided by jazz pianist Paul Salomone. The event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments  will be served. The exhibit will remain at our studios for the month of April. 
First Annual Violin Festival – The NJWA will present its First Annual Violin Festival on April 8, at 6:30 pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Westfield.  Students from the Music Studio and Sundance School will be featured.  It is also open to violin students from the area who wish to participate.  All violinists must register with the NJWA by calling 908-789-9696.  Click here to access the registration form. The event is free and open to the public, however free-will donations to the NJWA scholarship fund will be gratefully accepted. 
The Rockin' Jazz Band Performs for Fundraiser - The Rockin, Jazz Band, directed by Brian Plagge, will perform at a fundraising event for the Westfield Board of Education.  The Annual Wine Tasting Auction for the Education Fund of Westfield will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 7:00 pm at the Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield.   For more information log on to http://westfieldnj.com/edfund
The Rock Performance Workshop Participates in Fundraiser – Both sections of the Rock Performance Workshop will perform at a fundraiser for Furniture Assist, the organization in Kenilworth which provides furniture, appliances and household items free of charge to families or individuals in need. The event will be held at Jay’s Cycle Center, 227 North Avenue East, Westfield, on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 7:00 pm. Our two rock groups will play from 8:30 until 10:00 pm. Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12. There will be live music, games and a silent auction.  
NJWA Flute Ensemble - A new session of the Flute Ensemble will begin on Saturday, January 11.  Click here for more information.
